Origins and Growth

Founded in 2019 by Kieren Krygier — The Martial Man, The Martial Camp began as a bold vision: to bring together authentic internal martial arts masters and dedicated practitioners from around the world for an immersive retreat. The inaugural camp in Chiang Mai, Thailand, gathered just 31 participants but quickly grew into a highly anticipated global event.

Since then, the camp has expanded each year, attracting practitioners from Europe, Asia, North America, and beyond. With every edition, new masters, unique training opportunities, and deeper insights have been added, making The Martial Camp a transformative experience for beginners and advanced martial artists alike.

Mission and Values

The Martial Camp exists to preserve and share the rare knowledge of internal martial arts with integrity and depth. Guided by Kieren’s vision to transmit this knowledge and give practitioners a direct, hands-on experience beyond what can be seen in videos, the camp builds on his extensive work through The Martial Man. Through years of in-depth interviews and firsthand learning from renowned masters across Southeast Asia, the camp now provides authentic instruction in arts such as Tai Chi, Wing Chun, Qi Gong, White Crane, Shaolin Kungfu, and more.

Our mission is not only to teach techniques but also to foster personal transformation and community spirit. Students of all levels are welcomed into an environment of mutual respect, where egos are set aside, and the focus is on growth, connection, and authentic understanding of the internal arts.

World-Class Instruction

Every camp features a carefully selected lineup of internationally respected masters and lineage holders. Past instructors have included experts in Tai Chi, Internal Wing Chun, Medical Qi Gong, and traditional Shaolin arts, ensuring a rich and well-rounded education.

Participants receive over 50 hours of hands-on training, gaining rare access to teachings that are typically difficult to find outside Asia. The 2026 camp continues this tradition, offering diverse systems that explore both the physical and energetic dimensions of martial practice.

Community and Global Connections

The Martial Camp has grown into a vibrant global family of martial artists. Small group sizes ensure personalized instruction and meaningful interaction with masters and peers. Many attendees return year after year, forming lifelong friendships and becoming part of a worldwide network dedicated to internal arts.

Immersive Experience in Chiang Mai

Hosted at a serene mountain-view resort in Chiang Mai, Thailand, The Martial Camp balances intensive training with comfort and cultural exploration. Participants enjoy modern accommodations, Thai meals, and full access to resort amenities including a pool, spa, and wellness facilities.

Days are structured for focused practice and reflection, complemented by guided excursions to temples, nature reserves, and elephant sanctuaries. This holistic approach allows attendees to integrate training with rest, connection, and a deeper experience of Thai culture.

Looking Ahead to 2026
